About This Course
This Tennis & Language Camp offers children and teenagers aged 10 to 15 a unique opportunity to combine high-quality tennis training with immersive language learning in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Set in the picturesque Alpine village of Liddes, in the Valais region near the Grand St. Bernard, the camp takes place in a welcoming mountain chalet surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. The nearby tennis courts and peaceful environment create an ideal setting for both sporting excellence and focused learning.
Participants follow a well-balanced daily program that blends structured language classes in the morning with tennis training, matches, and challenges in the afternoons and evenings. In addition to tennis and language learning, the camp also includes recreational activities, relaxation time, and social events such as a fun Friday night disco, ensuring a memorable and well-rounded camp experience.
Language lessons are available in English, French, or German. Classes are taught by young, enthusiastic teachers and are kept small, with an average of six students per group. This allows for personalized attention and active participation. Each three-hour session combines grammar, practical communication skills, and engaging project-based activities designed to make language learning accessible, enjoyable, and effective for young learners.
Tennis training is led by experienced coaches and focuses on developing individual skills, match play techniques, and real in-game experience. Training sessions are conducted in English and cater to varying skill levels, allowing participants to improve technique, strategy, and confidence on the court. When weather conditions require it, tennis sessions are moved indoors to the tennis club in Martigny, with transportation provided by the camp.
Accommodation is provided in a Alpine chalet featuring shared dormitories or bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. The camp operates on a full-board basis, offering three freshly prepared meals per day by an in-house chef, along with fruit and snacks to maintain energy levels throughout the day. The chalet is equipped with recreational facilities such as table tennis, billiards, table football, and outdoor spaces for relaxation and play.
For those seeking deeper language immersion, an alternative accommodation option with a local host family in Liddes St. Bernard is available, offering full exposure to French in everyday life. Overall, this camp provides an enriching blend of sports, education, culture, and fun in an inspiring Alpine environment.
